Methodists believe in one baptism, meaning if you have been baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by any Christian church, you do not need to be baptized again. However, we find that people often like to remember their baptisms because they were either too young to remember their baptism, or they want to rededicate their life to Christ. Whatever you choose, we are so excited to step into the journey of baptism with you.
There are two methods of baptism we offer: submersion and sprinkling. In submersion, you stand in a horse trough full of water and members of our baptism team will lean you back to be fully submerged in the water, and then bring you back up again. In sprinkling, you will kneel at a kneeler near the baptism fount and a pastor will sprinkle water on your head. If a baby is being baptized, a parent or pastor will usually hold them.
